Privacy Statement
This Privacy Statement applies to the processing of personal data by Van Berlo Groep B.V., having its registered offices at Doornhoek 3715 in Veghel, the Netherlands. Hereinafter referred to as “Van Berlo” and/or “we”.
Van Berlo respects the privacy of the visitors to its website www.vanberlo.com and will ensure that the personal data that you provide us with is handled confidentially. In this privacy statement, we inform you about the way in which we collect and handle personal data.

Van Berlo processes personal data because you use our products or services and because you yourself provide such data to us, for example via our website.

Which personal data do we collect?
When you use the job application form or leave on our website www.vanberlo.com your email address for subscription to the Technisch Vakblad, we collect your name, email address and any other personal data mentioned in your CV.

When you buy our services or visit our website, we do not have any intention to collect data about website visitors who are younger than 16 years of age, unless they have the consent of a parent or guardian. However, we are not able to check whether a visitor is over 16 or not. We therefore advise parents to be involved in the online activities of their children in order to prevent data relating to children from being collected without parental consent. If you are convinced that we have collected personal data about a minor without such permission then please contact us on info@vanberlo.com and we will remove this information.

Why do we process personal data?
We use the data collected by us for the following purposes:
  • Compliance with relevant legislation and regulation;
  • To be able to answer your questions (in a personal manner);
  • To deal with your job application after you have sent your CV via the website;
  • To approach you for the Technisch Vakblad if you have subscribed.
Foundation
We process the above personal data on the basis of the following principles.
  • Permission: if we have asked permission to process your personal data and you have granted that permission. In that case, you are always entitled to revoke that permission;
  • Justified interest: We are also entitled to process personal data if we have a justified interest in this and do not disproportionately violate your privacy in doing so.
Sharing your personal data with third parties
We may deploy service providers (processors) for the processing of personal data. We only provide personal data if this is necessary for the execution of our agreement with you and/or to comply with a statutory obligation. We will enter into processing agreements with companies that process your data on our behalf in order to ensure a similar level of security and confidentiality of your data.

We share your personal data with the following categories of third parties:

  • Third parties that help Van Berlo maintain and develop its websites;
  • Third parties that help Van Berlo realise its marketing objectives;
  • Third parties that help Van Berlo gain insight into its target group.
Transfer of personal data outside the EU
We do not transfer your personal data to countries outside the European Union.
How long do we retain your personal data?
Van Berlo will not retain your personal data for any longer than is strictly necessary to realise the stated objective for which your data is collected, unless retention is a statutory obligation.
How do we secure your personal data?
Van Berlo takes the protection of your data seriously and takes appropriate measures in order to combat misuse, loss, unauthorised access, unwanted disclosure and unauthorised changes. Automated decision-making
We do not make decisions about matters that could have (serious) personal consequences on the basis of automated processing. This concerns decisions that are made by computer programs or systems without human intervention (for example, by an employee of Van Berlo).
Cookies
Cookies are used on this website. A cookie is a small, simple file that is stored on the computer, tablet or smartphone of the website visitor with the purpose of being able to recognise the visitor in the future and improving and simplifying access to this website. Functional cookies are used on this website.

Tracking cookies are not used on this website.

Van Berlo does make use of Google Analytics. The data collected this way is shared with other Google products that collect personal data. The privacy statement of Google can be found on https://policies.google.com/privacy.

You may opt out of cookies by changing the settings of your Internet browser in such a way that it no longer stores cookies. You can also remove all information that was previously saved via your browser settings.

Your rights in respect of your personal data
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data. In addition, you have the right to withdraw or limit any permission with respect to the processing of data or to object to the processing of your personal data by Van Berlo. You further have the right to data portability. This means that you can submit a request to us to send your personal data that we have in our possession in a computer file to you or to another organisation appointed by you.
You can email a request for access, correction, deletion or portability of your personal data, or a request for withdrawal of your permission, or your objection to the processing of your personal data, to info@vanberlo.com. In order to ensure that the request has been made by you, we ask you to accompany the request with a copy of your proof of identity. Please black out in this copy your passport photograph, MRZ (machine readable zone, the strip at the bottom of the passport containing the numbers), passport number and BSN (citizen service number). This is to protect your privacy. You can withdraw this permission at any moment. This is without prejudice to the legitimacy of the processing on the basis of the permission before the withdrawal.

We will respond to your request as soon as possible, in any case within four weeks. We would also like to point out to you the possibility to file a complaint with the national regulator, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (Dutch personal data authority).

Van Berlo is entitled to make changes, amendments and additions to this Privacy Statement for various reasons. We invite you to regularly read this Privacy Statement in order to remain informed. This version was drafted on 1 May 2018.
